The prison population in Wisconsin has more than tripled since 1990. Wisconsin has the highest black male incarceration rate in the country. Please join our work to greatly reduce the use of solitary confinement. More than 15 days in solitary confinement is torture. It magnifies mental health issues and destroys people. Restorative Justice and School Wellness is a working group within the MOSES Racial Justice for All Children task force. Its mission is to engage with the Madison Metropolitan School District Superintendent’s Wellness Advisory with a focus on policy revisions for non-punitive, non-exclusionary, and restorative measures in discipline policy among other things.
